Mandate

• Formulate integrated economic, social, physical and other development plans and policies for consideration of the local government developing council.

• Conduct continuing studies, research, and training programs to evolve effective plans.

• Monitor and evaluate the implementation of various programs and projects in the LGU.

• Analyze financial trends and recommend fiscal plans for the LGU's finance committee.

• Promote participatory governance in the planning process.

• Supervise and control the secretariat of the local development council.

• Prepare and implement Provincial Development Fund projects.

• Draft the Annual Accomplishment Report of the Province.
Vision and Mission

Vision
Occidental Mindoro Provincial Planning and Development Office is an organization handled

by competent, people-oriented, and innovative staff equipped with updated capabilities to generate and use a vast array of information and technology. We aim to propose socio-economic, physical, cultural, and environmental development frameworks and to collaborate with other government units to achieve the province’s vision.

To be an effective and efficient department that supports the LGU in attaining its development goals and delivers high-quality public service.

GAD Focal Point System / Gender Mainstreaming

One of the essential elements in GAD Planning and Budgeting to enable effective planning and implementation of sectoral programs are providing capability building Program on GAD-related laws and commitments to GFPS Members/Technical Working Group, and PGOM personnel. The Gender Sensitivity Trainings (GSTs) have been an integral part of GAD advocacy as a mechanism to increase awareness among PGOM employees, trainings should be included but shall not be limited to gender mainstreaming, gender analysis and gender- responsive planning and budgeting, and the need to strengthening GAD Focal Point System.
